Freshly Made Sketches #54

Hello my friends,

It's time for another card challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches!  I loved all the team members cards, but the one that caught my eye was Jen's sympathy card.  The beautiful butterflies and the perfect paper combo... so pretty.  It inspired me to create one of my own!

My card:

The card base is SU Whisper White, and a color I've never used and I think I will more often, is SU Bashful Blue.  It's a very pretty, soft blue, and it was the perfect color to match with black.  I love the contrast!  I embossed it with the Square Lattice Folder.  The middle paper is from my stash  Using the Classic Circles Spellbinders, I cut 3 circles and layered them on top of each other.  On the Bashful Blue paper, I stamped the flower, from the Love & Sympathy stamp set in Bashful Blue ink, and the sentiment is from Thoughts & Prayers stamp set, stamped in Black ink.  I added one tiny little pearl on the butterfly and 2 rhinestones on each corner, and there you have it.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

IBSIC #27 ~ A New Photo Inspiration Challenge

Hello my friends,

I rushed home today from work in order to post this card for this week's IBSIC #27 challenge!  We were asked to use the colors Red, Orange and Cream.  Isn't this picture simply gorgeous?

My card:

My base is SU Soft Suede, followed by Very Vanilla.  I added an orange layer from my stash.  I then cut in half a MS doily and sponged the edges with SU Pumpkin Pie.  The leaves are from SU Days of Gratitude stamp set.  The sentiment is from IBS store called Small Fancy Labels 18.  Lastly, I made two small holes and inserted red baker's twine and added an orange bow.

The Cupcake Craftroom - Pretty Pastels

Hello everyone,

Happy Saturday!  I'm here to share with you a card I created for a new challenge I stumbled upon on my friend Tammy's blog called The Cupcake Craftroom Challenge.  The challenge is to use pastels. After seeing all the beautiful cards created by the design team, I wanted to join in on the fun too.

My card:

I used the pastel color pink, baby blue for the layers and a polka dots paper from K&Company called Snuggle Bug Mad Pad.  It was stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it in with the following Copic Markers:  EOO, EOOO, CI, C3, R81, R83, RV25, BOO and B02. The dies I used were Spellbinders Classic Oval and Lacey Ovals.  For the final touches, I added a pink ribbon and 2 buttons!  I think she looks very pretty.

Freshly Made Sketches #53

Hello my friends,

We are at the end of summer here in the U.S., so I wanted to make one last card using bright, happy colors for this week's Freshly made Sketches #53

My card:

The base of the card is SU Pacific Point cardstock.  I'm not sure if you can see it, but I added another piece of the same color and embossed it with the square lattice folder.  I took a piece of scratch paper and cut the 7 strips and played with them until I got the right measurement.  I used the Beyond the Garden DSP (retired) from SU for the floral strips and the solid yellows are from my stash.  Once that was done, the card came together fairly quickly.  I took out one of my favorite SU floral stamp sets, Fabulous Florets.  I stamped the 3 flowers using SU Tangerine Tango and added some leaves from SU Vintage Vogue stamp set.  I used the  Classic Circle Spellbinders to cut the image, and added a pearl to each flower using the Pearl Pen (love this pen!).  And there you have it!

IBSIC #25 ~ Inspiration Challenge

Hello my friends,

Happy Tuesday!  I have a card to share today for this week's IBSIC #25.  We were asked to use the colors Blue, Yellow, Green and Cream.

IBSIC #25

My card:

The base of the card is very vanilla, with a layer of pretty paper from Basic Grey's Marjolaine paper pad.  Using MS doily, I distressed the edges with Antique Linen.  I really like the way it came out. The teacup is stamped with Marina Mist ink.  I then gently stamped the flowers with daffodil delight, and gently cut them out and adhered them to the teacup.  The sentiment is from the Inspired by Stamping store called Small Fancy Labels 3.  I decided to distress the edges of the tag also.  Lastly, I added a small green bow, lace and some bling.

Freshly Made Sketch #51

Hello my friends,

Happy Thursday!  I created a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches #51.

Here's my card:

The base of the card is SU very vanilla card stock, and the layers are from SU retired Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack, except for the hot pink and brown paper - those are from my stash.  The scallop strip was already pre-cut from a package purchased from my local craft store - that is why the border has different scallop sizes.  The birdcage is stamped on SU Melon Mambo ink and the bird on SU pacific point ink.  I gently cut him out and popped him up with some dimensionals.  Lastly, I added a yellow bow and 3 big pearls to the birdcage.

IBSIC #24 ~ Sketch Challenge

Hello my friends,

After seeing Joanna's beautiful card using the scallop circle die, it is now on my wish list!  But in the meantime, I pretended I was using the die for this week's IBSIC #24 sketch challenge.  :)

IBSIC-#24

My card:

I followed the sketch, but used a square card.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye's Howdy Doody  paper pad - lots of soft colors!  The spellbinder die are from the Lacey and Classic Circle.  I dressed the card up with pretty ruffled ribbon, rhinestones and small yellow flowers from the IBS store.  I cut 2 squares and added the sentiment from the Small Fancy Labels 3 stamp set, also from the IBS store.  I hope you like it.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 166

Hello my friends,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!  I made a card for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 166.

My card:

I wanted to make a fun card today, and since Halloween is coming up, I figured I would make one!
The Halloween paper is from SU Retired Cast-A-Spell Designer Paper. The image is from La-La Land Craft, called Pumpkin Marci.  I stamped her on Neenah Solar White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored her with copic markers.  I cut the image out with a Spellbinder Classic Circle Die and mounted it on another Circle Die.  I added some black kitties to the banners using a retired punch from Creative Memories.  The final touches are the sentiment using SU Teeny Tiny Wishes and 2 orange blings!

I also want to share a card I created last week, but never had time to post.  This was for the La-La Land Group Contest #2 - Summer, on Facebook:

Since I enjoy gardening during the summer, I thought this would a perfect card to make!  The stamp is also from La-La Land Crafts, called Marci with Flower.  The summer paper is from the Lime Twist 6x6 paper pack from My Mind's Eye, and the sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping store.
