"Nothing But Kraft" Challenge

Hello my friends,

Yesterday, I posted a card for the Dynamic Duos & The Paper Players Card Challenges, and it slipped my mind that I can also enter it at the "Nothing But Kraft" Challenge - Thank you, Tammy!

Here is my card:

I created a simple and clean sympathy card.  The base is Crumb Cake, next is Soft Suede then another layer of Crumb Cake, embossed with Square Lattice Folder. The sentiment is from SU! Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set.  I always like to add butterflies to sympathy cards.  It gives the card a peaceful feeling.  To finish it off, I simply added a small pearl to each butterfly and Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon across the bottom.

Paper Sweeties #3 Challenge

Hello my friends,

I have another card to share today.  I found a new card challenge, called Paper Sweeties on my friend Tammy Hobbs' blog.  Lately, I haven't had alot of time to do crafts, super busy at work and at home, but I managed to put together 2 cards tonight.. YAY!

papersweetiessketch3 Paper Sweeties Sketch Inspiration #3 challenge!

My card:

My card is clean and simple.  The base is Whisper White and I used some patterned paper from Recollections Blue Christmas.  I purchased the snowman and the sentiment over at Paper Sweeties. I love the snowman!  I think he's super cute!  I did, however, trim the hat a bit so that it would fit.  I then added a small pom-pom and Fuzzy Fun Flock to the hat.  I colored the scarf and part of the hat with copic markers.

Thank you so much for stopping by,

Dynamic Duos #37 & The Paper Players #130

Hello my friends,

Happy Wednesday (or Hump Day, as I call it).  I have a card to share with you for this week's Dynamic Duos #37 and The Paper Players #130.

My card:

The base of the card is Crumb Cake, followed with Soft Suede cardstock.  The next layer was embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder (Crumb Cake).  I really liked Vicki Burdick's beautiful card using the DSP from the new Print Poetry Paper Stack, so I knew I wanted to use it also.  Te sentiment is from SU! Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set.  I added 2 small butterflies and Very Vanilla satin ribbon.

Merry Monday #46

Hello my blog friends,

I finally finished a card for this week's Merry Monday #46.  The theme challeng is Birds:

My card:

The only bird stamp set I have is SU! Beautiful Season, and even though I made a few cards last month for Christmas, I wanted  to create something different with this stamp set.  I took out my 2011 Heirloom Ornaments Spellbinders and went to work!  I stamped the beautiful Chickadee onto the 2nd biggest ornament and colored it with copic markers.  I adhered that ornament onto a bigger ornamment and added some ribbon and gold cord (to make it look like it's hanging).  The patterned paper is from Authentique Wonder Collection.  I added some pretty gold ribbon on the bottom and rhinestones on the top.  I really like the way it turned out!

The Paper Players #129 & DD#36

Hello my friends.

I'm so happy to share with you that my card, see HERE, was selected as one of the Cut Above winners over at The Paper Players...Thank you, Nance!
Today, I created another card combining 2 card challenges: The Paper Players #129 & Dynamic Duos #36:

My card:

I love making Clean and Simple Cards because they are super fast to make!!  The base is Whisper White, following with Real Red cardstock.  Again, I made my own background paper by photocopying the page from a dictionary that has the definition word "Love" - it's in the top left-hand corner.  The image is from SU! Greetings Card Kids, colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from IBS Be Mine Stamp Set.  To add balance to the card, I added Red Baker's Twine and 2 red rhinestones.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Freshly Made Sketches #69

Hello my friends,

Happy Sunday!  I'm here to share a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches #69.  We have a fabulous sketch by Linda S:

My card:

The card base is Whisper White, followed by Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The patterned papers are from Kaisercraft The Lake House.  The teacups and sentiment are from SU! Tea Shoppe.  The two teacups are stamped with Pretty in Pink ink (even though it looks much lighter in the picture).  Lastly, I added tiny pearls to the tea cups and on the top right-hand side of the card.

On a personal note, I'm giving my blog a "new look" - I'm still fiddling with the header - not too happy with the way it looks, but hopefully I can find some time next week to finalize it.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I love to read your comments!

Freshly Made Sketches #68

Hello my friends.

Today, I am sharing a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches.  Jen M. created this great sketch:

My card:

Last month. my blog friend, Colleen Dietrich from Dietrich Designs, created a Masculine Christmas Card using pages from a dictionary - she photocopied the page with the definition for "Christmas tree" and used it on her card.  You can see it HERE.   During the Christmas Holidays, I went to a thrift shop, purchased a dictionary for $2.00 and photocopied the page with the definition of "Love" and used it as the background for my card.  I thought it was the perfect paper to go with the typewriter! The image and sentiment is from SU! You're My Type (retired).  I added a small heart with a tiny pearl and some Riding Hood Red ribbon.

IBSIC #40

Hello my friends,

I'm here to share with you a card for this week's Inspired by Stamping. Love the beautiful picture.

IBSIC#40

My card:

I used some retired SU! paper, which I thought was the perfect "blue" color.  The image is from IBS Cherish Stamp Set.  Behind the image, using Bashful Blue ink, I stamped the white paper with En Francais Stamp Set - not sure if you can see it.  I incorporated light purple to my card by adding small flowers to the tree and a delicate butterfly.  As a finishing touch, I added pretty lace on the bottom of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Paper Players #127

Hello my friends,

I came across this card challenge, and the theme caught my eye, "Love is in the Air" - I  immediately knew what I wanted to create!

My card:

Even though I don't have any hearts on my card, I thought this elegant dress would be appropriate for a Valentine's Card.  I found this dress template in my stash, but unfortunately, I do not know the creator's name.  To make the dress look fancy, I adhered black ribbon and a small bow with a pearl.  The pretty paper is from Echo Park Yours Truly Paper Pad - leftover from last year.  The red bling finishes my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by,

Happy Snowman

Hello my crafty friends,

Happy New Year to all!  I'm starting 2013 feeling energized, as I am honored to have been chosen Guest Designer for this week's challenge at Merry Monday.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to create something special.

I love SU! Snow Much Fun Stamp Set - it's one of my favorites.  I used some pretty paper from Festival of Prints.  The sentiment is from Noel Christmas Ornaments. I finished my card by adding a  red bow, red rhinestones and mini pom-poms.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
