Simple Birthday Card

Hey Everyone,

Happy Friday!  Today's card was made using this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and over at The Kraft Journal, we were asked to create a clean and simple project.

My card:

I chose Whisper White card base, with layers of White card stock and Kraft card stock.  I then added texture to the Very Vanilla layer with the En Francais background stamp. I used my favorite flower die - Blossom Party Die - as the focal point.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs, and was stamped in Early Espresso ink.  A trio of coordinating button, ribbon and white twine finish off the details.

FMS137 & Colour Me...Birthday Card

Hello Friends,

Just popping in very quickly to share a card I made last night.  The layout is one of the current Freshly Made Sketches and the color combo is from Colour Me,,,!

Here's my card:

The card base is Whisper White and Soft Sky.  The patterned paper is from my stash, which matches the color combo perfectly.  I then took some more Whisper White and card stock and added some texture with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  The cute little purses were die-cut from the Memory Box Terrific Tote Die, using card stock close to the Primrose Petals color.  I adhered a small flower to each purse using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch.  To jazz it up a bit, I adhered a dark chocolate pearl to each flower.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and was stamped in Early Espresso ink.

I'm also sharing over at Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes.

Exploring Cricut...Summer Memories

Hi Everyone,

I have a fun and simple card to share with you for this week's Exploring Cricut and More Challenge.  This weeks theme is "Here Comes Summer" and we were asked to incorporate blue and red.  When I think of summer, I remember my mom dressing me up with denim shorts or denim overalls and playing outside with my brothers - climbing trees, bike riding and eating ice-cream.  Oh, those were the days!

I started out with Whisper White card base, and red patterned paper from my stash.  I divided the top and bottom of the card with a strip of red ribbon and red taffeta ribbon, which I made into a bow.  The ovals were die-cut from more Whisper White and Blue card stock using the ovals spellbinders.  I used the Cricut Cartridge Freshly Picked, and cut out the denim pants at 3 inches.  The sentiment is from SU! Petite Pairs, and was stamped in Basic Black ink.  For the final touch, I added 2 red dots to the overalls.

PP195... Birthday Wishes

Hello Friends,

I fell in love with this week's colors from the The Paper Players Challenge.  I always like to see some shade of green because I immediately think of flowers, and that's pretty much the direction I went with.

My card

Here's a close-up:

I purchased this pretty embossing folder by Darice called Leafy Tree from my local scrap booking store, and decided to give it a whirl.  I started out with some Whisper White card stock base.  I took another piece of white card stock and embossed the card front.  Using Calypso Coral and So Saffron card stock, I used the Itty Bitty Shapers to punch out the flowers, and gave them some dimension by using the foam pad and stylus.  I then hand cut the small leaves using Pear Pizzaz card stock.  I wrapped the card with some ribbon and added a bow.  The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping Cupcake Wishes, and was stamped in Early Espresso ink.  To finish off the details, I added a small pearl to each flower.

FMS134 .. Happy Mother's Day

Happy Saturday,

The weekend is finally here!  I have a card to share with you for this week's Freshly Made Sketches.

The card base is Crushed Curry, and the pretty patterned papers are from Pink Paislee.  I stamped the leaves from the Fabulous Florets stamp set in Smokey Slate ink, and stamped the flowers in Crushed Curry ink, fussy cut them and adhered them to the oval layer.  The patterned paper is broken up a bit with a piece of gray card stock.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I added a pearl to each flower to finish off the details.
