The Kraft Journal: Use Any Sketch & The Paper Players #147

Hello my friends,

I'm here to share a card for this week's The Kraft Journal Challenge.  We were asked to use any sketch, so I decided to use this week's The Paper Players Challenge.  LeAnne has a fabulous sketch for us:

My card:

The base of the card is Crumb Cake, followed by Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The patterned papers are from SU! Bella Rose DSP.  I love the Ruby Red, Old Olive and Crumb Cake color combo!  The little teacups are from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set.  I fussy cut each cup and placed them on top of each other.  To jazz it up a bit, I added a flower using the Boho Blossoms Punch and adhered a tiny pearl in the middle.

Dynamic Duos #54

Hello Everyone,

I want to share with you a card I made for this week's Dynamic Duos #54.  We were asked to use the colors Light Blue and Navy.

My card:

The base of the card is Whisper White, then some Midnight Muse cardstock.  The patterned paper is from Comfort Cafe. I chose to create a sympathy card because I thought the colors conveyed sadness.  I dusted off a stamp set I can't even remember the last time I used it, SU! My Friend Stamp Set.  I stamped the image onto some white cardstock with Midnight Muse ink.  I embossed using the Square Lattice Folder a strip of Bashful Blue cardstock and adhered it behind the image.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Freshly Made Sketches #87

Hello my friends,

I'm popping in very quickly to share a card I made using the fabulous sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

My card:

My card is clean and simple.  The base of the card is Whisper White, followed by Rich Razzleberry cardstock and patterned papers from SU! Pocketful of Posies.  Using Crushed Curry cardstock, I made the flowers using Blossoms Party Originals Die.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners.  I finished things off by adding a pearl to each flower.

Dynamic Duos #53

Hi Everyone!

I have a card to share with you for this week's Dynamic Duos #53.  We were asked to use Pacific Point and Basic Black, with the dessert option to use a Kid Theme.  I went with a Baby Theme instead.

My Card:

The base of the card is Whisper White, followed by Basic Black cardstock.  The only piece of patterned paper I have that has the color Pacific Point is from the International Bazaar DSP, and even though it's not "baby" patterned paper, I decided to roll with it.  I asked a co-worker if she would be kind enough to knit a small baby shirt for my card, and in 15 minutes, it was done!  I inserted toothpicks to simulate knitting needles, and Viola!   Beneath the shirt, I adhered piece of white cardstock with a border as matting.  The sentiment is from SU! Congrats Stamp Set (retired).  I added 2 small hearts using the Hearts Embosslits for balance.

Thanks for stopping by,

The Paper Players #146

Happy Sunday!

Today I am sharing a card for this week's The Paper Players Challenge.  We were asked to create CAS Masculine Card.  For this challenge, I CASE'd a card I made a couple of weeks ago, you can see it HERE.

My card:

The base of the card is Very Vanilla and the plaid patterned paper is from Echo Park.  I created a shirt card!  I used the Petite Pennants to punch out 2 banners for the bow, which were embossed with the Houndstoooth Embossing Folder.  In the middle of the card, I added a piece of black cardstock and adhered another piece of patterned paper on top.  I hand drew the two pockets for the shirt.  The sentiment is from SU! Best Dad Ever.  As for the final touch, I adhered 3 small green buttons.

Freshly Made Sketches #86 and The Kraft Journal: Red, White or Blue

Happy Saturday!

I'm here to share with you a card I created last night.  I'm using the fabulous sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the colors from The Kraft Journal.  We were asked to use Red, White or Blue.  I incorporated the colors red and blue for my card.

My card:

The base of the card is Night of Navy, followed by Crumb Cake, which I embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder.  The images are from SU! The Open Sea Stamp Set.  I used Crumb Cake, Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler ink for all three images.  I wanted to make a Father's Day card for my dad, and since he loves sailboats, I thought this was perfect for him.  I wrappd some MS red Bakers Twine in the middle and tied the anchor instead of a bow.  The sentiment is from Best Dad Ever Stamp Set and is stamped with Crumb Cake ink.  Because this is a masculine card, I simply added 2 gold eyelets to the sentiment.

Merry Monday #62

Hello my friends,

I'm here to share a card for this week's Merry Monday #62.  Lesley has an awesome sketch for us:

My card:

The base of the card is Whisper White, followed by Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  The white cardstock was embossed with Petal-a-Plenty Embossing Folder.  I was tempted to leave it with no texture, but at the last minute, I changed my mind - I love the way it looks!  The pretty patterned paper was a scrap from a retired paper stack from SU.  It was the perfect size that matched the sketch.  I then matted the pretty paper with Baja Breeze cardstock.  The image is from SU! Greeting Card Kids, and was colored with copic markers.  Not sure if you can see it, but I added a tiny rhinestone to the small Christmas tree.  All Christmas trees need something shiny on top, don't they?  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set from SU! Four the Seasons.  I totally forgot I had this stamp set!

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment... I love to read them!

Freshly Made Sketches #85 & Dynamic Duos One Year Anniversary

Happy Sunday,

I would like to wish all the Mom's a Happy Mother's Day!  I'm having company coming over today, so I wanted to post my card before they arrive!  The fabulous sketch is from Narelle over at Freshly Made Sketches, and I picked a past Dynamic Duos color combo, Regal Rose and Basic Grey, since they are celebrating their One Year Anniversary!  YAY!

My card:

The base is Whisper White, followed by Basic Grey cardstock.  The only grey patterned paper I had was this polka dot by Echo Park.  I embossed the strip of Regal Rose cardstock that is on top of the card with Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  This is one of my favorite folders..so elegant and perfect for a Mother's Day card.  I stamped the leaves with Memento London Fog ink.  The gorgeous flowers were stamped with Regal Rose ink.  I stamped the flower once on a piece of paper, and the 2nd time onto the card, to give it a lighter shade.  I also used pink polka dot patterned paper for the 3 flags.  The sentiment is from SU! Wonderful Mother. To finish off my card, I added 2 small pearls to the flowers.

This card is for my mother-in-law.. I hope she likes it.

The Kraft Journal: Just For Her Challenge

Hello everyone!

I'm here to share with a card for this week's The Kraft Journal: Just for Her Challenge.  Mother's Day is in the air, so I've been busy making Mother's Day cards.  I CASED this beautiful card by Vicki over at It's a Stamp Thing, but I changed the card and added my own touches to make it my own.

My card:

The base of the card is Crumb Cake, followed by Blushing Bride and a pretty pink polka dot cardstock that I found in my stash.  In the middle of the card, I embossed another piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, using the Perfect Polka dots Folder, and adhered the beautful flowers from SU! Stippled Blossoms.  I'm not sure how I ended up with the 2 flowers with different shades of pink, so I decided to use them because I liked the way it came out...what the heck, right?  Two small pearls were added to the big flowers an 1 pearl to the small flower.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Merry Monday #61

Happy Friday Everyone,

I'm here to share a card I created for this week's Merry Monday Challenge #61.  I have to admit, this week's sketch was a challenge for me, but I'm game!

This is what I came up with:

I didn't have any Christmas stamps that would work well with the sketch, so I decided to do something else - how about the elves legs!  So right after dinner last Tuesday, I went to work.  I hand drew the elves shoes and embossed with Square Lattice Folder.  It gave them the perfect texture.  The red/white cardstock is from SU! Holly Berry Bouquet DSP (retired).  This cardstock made the elves legs come to life!  The sentiment is from SU! Blessed Season. Lastly, I added 3 rhinestones to the top right hand corner and on the tips of the shoes.  I really like the way it came out!  This will definitely be one of my Christmas card templates for this year - a fun card to make!

My card:

I decided to make a CAS card, since I have a couple of more Mother's Day cards to make!  The base is Whisper White, followed by pretty paper from SU!
