Mother's Day Card

Happy Saturday!

Today, I'm playing along with this week's The Card Concept Challenge.  I was inspired by the beautiful bold colors.

I'd say my card fits in the category of classy and elegant:

I decided to use a color I have not used in a while -Rose Red, which I think goes well with grey.

Supplies:

Paper: Whisper White, Rose Red, Basic Grey, Stamps: Stippled Blossoms, Wonderful Mother; Ink: Rose Red, Smokey Slate, Early Espresso; Tools: Lacy Brocade EF; Other: Pretty Pink Posh sequins, small pearls

I was additionally inspired by the Just Add Ink Challenge - "Just Add Sequins"

The Card Concept 2

Hello friends,

Today's card was created for this week's The Card Concept.  I chose to go with Clean and Simple.  I've been busy with other projects, leaving little time to make cards.

My card:

The card base is Whisper White, with another layer of the same, but I added some texture with the cuttlebug embossing folder Grace's Frame.  The pretty flowers are from SU! Stippled Blossoms.  I inked the flower with Perfect Plum ink and stamped it off onto some scrap paper one time prior to stamping it onto the white card stock.  The overstamp was also inked in Perfect Plum.  I didn't have my stamp-ma-jig on hand, so I simply eye-balled it.  The leaves were stamped in Wild Wasabi ink.  The sentiment is from SU! Wetland, and was stamped in Early Espresso ink.  Lastly, two small pearls were added to each flower.

I'm also linking up to Word Art Challenge #116 - Anything Goes and CASology Week 80: Purple

Happy Sunday!

While having a garage sale, I was able to put together a card for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge.  We were asked to use Primrose Petals and Blushing Bride.

My card:

My card features 5 different stamps sets.  The beautiful flower and leaves are from Stippled Blossoms (stamped with Primrose Petals & Blushing Bride), the frame image is from Post Card (stamped with Chocolate Chip), the stamp is from Fresh Vintage and the emblem is from Kindness Matters.  My card base is Whisper White, followed by Blushing Bride.  I matted the Post Card using some Primrose Petals cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink, and the leaves were stamped with Memento Desert Sand.  For the final touches, I adhered some pearls on the top and bottom of the card, and some Crumb Cake ribbon beneath the flower.

In addition to the Dynamic Duos challenge, I am linking to:

The Kraft Journal #136: Clean and Simple

Happy Monday!

It was great to have a day off from work and do some scrapbooking.  I am sharing a card for this week's The Kraft Journal.  It's all about clean and simple.

My card:

For my card, I chose to use Inspired by Stamping Small Fancy Labels 18 Stamp Set.  I began with Kraft cardstock.  The layers are 2 Whisper White cardstock papers.  The first layer, on the bottom right hand corner, I simply stamped the image in SU! Marina Mist ink.  On the second layer, I embossed 3/8 inch of the cardstock using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  Then, using the Spellbinder Label Eighteen, I superimposed the image around the die cut to give it dimension.  To add some color, I placed a small flower using the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set.  To finish off my card, a small bow was adhered on the right hand side.

I'm also linking it up at Word Art Wednesday and Inspired by Stamping Customer Gallery.

Freshly Made Sketches #85 & Dynamic Duos One Year Anniversary

Happy Sunday,

I would like to wish all the Mom's a Happy Mother's Day!  I'm having company coming over today, so I wanted to post my card before they arrive!  The fabulous sketch is from Narelle over at Freshly Made Sketches, and I picked a past Dynamic Duos color combo, Regal Rose and Basic Grey, since they are celebrating their One Year Anniversary!  YAY!

My card:

The base is Whisper White, followed by Basic Grey cardstock.  The only grey patterned paper I had was this polka dot by Echo Park.  I embossed the strip of Regal Rose cardstock that is on top of the card with Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  This is one of my favorite folders..so elegant and perfect for a Mother's Day card.  I stamped the leaves with Memento London Fog ink.  The gorgeous flowers were stamped with Regal Rose ink.  I stamped the flower once on a piece of paper, and the 2nd time onto the card, to give it a lighter shade.  I also used pink polka dot patterned paper for the 3 flags.  The sentiment is from SU! Wonderful Mother. To finish off my card, I added 2 small pearls to the flowers.

This card is for my mother-in-law.. I hope she likes it.

The Kraft Journal: Just For Her Challenge

Hello everyone!

I'm here to share with a card for this week's The Kraft Journal: Just for Her Challenge.  Mother's Day is in the air, so I've been busy making Mother's Day cards.  I CASED this beautiful card by Vicki over at It's a Stamp Thing, but I changed the card and added my own touches to make it my own.

My card:

The base of the card is Crumb Cake, followed by Blushing Bride and a pretty pink polka dot cardstock that I found in my stash.  In the middle of the card, I embossed another piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, using the Perfect Polka dots Folder, and adhered the beautful flowers from SU! Stippled Blossoms.  I'm not sure how I ended up with the 2 flowers with different shades of pink, so I decided to use them because I liked the way it came out...what the heck, right?  Two small pearls were added to the big flowers an 1 pearl to the small flower.  The sentiment is computer generated.

My card:

I decided to make a CAS card, since I have a couple of more Mother's Day cards to make!  The base is Whisper White, followed by pretty paper from SU! Freshly Made Sketches #80

Hi Everyone,

I just love, love this week's sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Since Mother's Day is just around the corner, I decided to get started making some cards!

My card:

The base is Whisper White, second layer is Baja Breeze and the pretty paper is from SU! Pocketful of Posies (retired).  I used, for the first time, the gorgeous flower from SU! Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set...Oh my, I really like this flower!  At first, I used Rich Razzleberry ink, but it was a bit too dark for me, so I went with Regal Rose ink and Pretty In Pink ink - love the color combo!  The leaves were stamped with Certainly Celery.  I really like how Narelle's bow is slightly askew, so I wanted to try it on my card too.  I always think everything needs to be perfectly straight, but I need to learn that if it's not, it can still look very pretty!
