Merry Monday... Black/Gold/Silver Card

Happy Tuesday,

Today's card was created for this week's Merry Monday Challenge.

My card:

I began with a Whisper White card base.  I then embossed another piece of white card stock using the Couture Creations Baubles embossing folder.  The gold and silver ornaments were embossed with the SU! Lacy Brocade folder, then die-cut using circle spellbinders.  The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping Elegant Christmas Sentiments, and was stamped in Basic Black ink.  A trio of coordinating bows on the ornaments finish off the details.

I'm also linking up to Inspired by Stamping - August Customer Gallery.

The Paper Players: White on White & 52CCT

Happy Sunday!

I took some time out of my Sunday afternoon to make a card.  The Paper Players Challenge has an elegant color theme - White on White or Vanilla, plus a neutral or metallic sentiment:

Over at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown Challenge, we were asked to choose any past 2013 Challenge.  I chose Theme #1: Christmas Flowers:

My card:

My card literally took about 15 minutes.  I wish all of my cards were that quick to put together!  The card base is Whisper White, with a second layer embossed with the Holly folder.  This folder is one of my favorites for Christmas cards.  I used more Whisper White to die-cut the beautiful poinsettia using the Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia.  The sentiment is from Penny Black Christmas Cheer, and was stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia.  I thought it was the perfect sentiment for an all-white Christmas card.  A simple rhinestone in the middle of the poinsettia finishes off the details.

Thanks for stopping by,

Merry Monday #85

Happy Tuesday,

I'm popping in very quickly to share a card for this week's Merry Monday #85.  We were asked to create a card using all white or ivory, and brown or kraft for the sentiment and accents.

My card:

I created a CAS card, which is always one of my favorite styles.  The card base is Very Vanilla, followed with another layer of the same card stock and embossed with the Holly embossing folder.
I created a poinsettia with the Layered Poinsettia Spellbinders, and simply added 4 tiny rhinestones in the middle.  The sentiment is from Fiskars' Holiday Frolic, and was stamped in VersaFine Vintage Sepia.

I'm also linking at CAS on Sunday and Rudolph Days Challenge.

Merry Monday #74

Happy Thursday!

I have a card to share for this week's Merry Monday.  We were asked to use the colours Green and White with woodgrain.

My card;

I began my card with a Whisper White card stock base.  I then added another layer of Whisper White, embossed with the Woodgrain folder and a strip of Lucky Limeade card stock.  I scored the left hand side with my Scor Buddy for a bit of subtle interest.  I stamped the gorgeous chickadee from SU! Beautiful Season on X-Press It Blending Paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink, and colored it with Copic markers and color pencils.  The circles were die-cut from white and brown card stock using the Classic Circle Spellbinders.  I positioned the image with foam tape, then took some Baker's Twine Early Espresso and tucked it behind the card stock to assimilate it"s hanging from the bow.  The sentiment is from Just Rite's Noel Christmas Ornaments, and was stamped Memento Tuxedo Black.

I've also entered this card over at Paper Issues: Put Some Twine On It! and 'X' Marks the Sport: The Twinery Challenge.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Merry Monday #73

Hello everyone,

I have a card to share for this week's Merry Monday.  We were asked to create a Christmas card using Red, Green and Kraft, with a choice of Ribbon, Twine or Burlap.  I incorporated both Ribbon and Burlap.

My card:

I began with Crumb Cake, followed by Real Red and Authentique Collection: Joyous patterned paper.  The ovals were die-cut from Whisper White and Real Red card stock using the classic oval spellbinders.  I stamped the sentiment from SU! Snow Swirled in Tuxedo Black ink, and added some curls using SU! Priceless Stamp Set.  I then took some burlap, die-cut it with the largest die using the Labels 18 and adhered it behind the sentiment.  A strip of red taffeta ribbon was added on the right hand side of the card, along with a double bow.  To add balance to the card, I used Spellbinders Shapabilities Layered Poinsettia die to create a small poinsettia.

I'm linking up at Link Up Tuesday.

Thanks for joining me today,

Happy Sunday!

I'm here to share a card for this week's Dynamic Duos.  We were asked to use Plum, and the 2nd color is our choise.  I picked Baja Breeze.  I also incorporated the neutral colors White and Kraft.

My card:

My card begins with Crumb Cake card base, followed by Whisper White.  I embossed Perfect Plum (looks much darker in the picture) and Crumb Cake cardstock with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I took pretty paper from SU! Pocketful of Posies and matted it with Whisper White cardstock, and adhered on the left side of the card.  The circles were die cut with the Standard Circles Spellbinders and Lacy Circles Spellbinders.  The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping Cupcake Wishes, and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I finished it off by wrapping Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon across and adding a double bow to the left hand side.

The Kraft Journal: Tie It On Challenge

Happy Sunday!

I'm popping in very quickly to share a project for this week's The Kraft Journal.  We are asked to create a project where you tie elements together.

My project:

I found this fabulous tutorial on Pinterest on how to create this easy and quick envelope, see Here.  It did not give me any measurements, but I did my best to duplcate it.  The pretty paper is kraft with pink flowers.  For the 4 circles, I used the largest circle spellbinders.  Using my Scor-Pal, I creased each circle in the middle.  I then used Tomboy adhesive and placed very little glue on the edges, exactly how the picture shows.  I wrapped pink satin ribbon around the envelope, then a double bow in the middle.   It looked plain to me, so then I adhered a button and used linen thread to tie the teapot trinket.

I'm also sharing my card over at Word Art Wednesday and Link It Up Tuesday.

The Ribbon Reel Challenge #48

Hello my friends,

I want to thank the ladies over at The Ribbon Reel for choosing my card, from last week's challenge, as one of the "Top 3" - It really made my day!

Here is the sketch Helen has for us this week:

My card:

It's time to make Easter cards!  The base is Very Vanilla and I used some patterned paper from My Mind's Eye's Lost & Found.  For the paper on the left-hand side, I used the SU! En Francais and stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock using Baja Breeze ink.  The image is from SU! Easter Blossoms, stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink.  The die I used is Spellbinder Labels Eighteen.  A light baby blue double bow and a flower from K&Company was added to the card!  I finished it off with some pearls on the edge of the card and in the basket.

Thank you so much for stopping by,

IBSIC #35 & JAI #144

Hello my friends,

I have a card to share with you for 2 separate card challenges.  This week, at Inspired by Stamping , we were asked to use pink, gold and white, as the main colors.  Below is the photo inspiration:

IBSIC #35

I found this new card challenge, Just Add Ink #144, so I decided to play along and incorporate "Music" to my card:

The base card is Whisper White and the next layer is pretty paper from Webster's Pages' Clean & Simple.  I added gold and pink ribbon across the card.  I cut out a tag using music notes from Graphic 45.  Using the Layered Poinsettia Spellbinders, I cut a pink poinsettia and distressed the edges using Spun Suger Distress Ink by Jim Holtz (not sure if you can see it) - now that it's getting dark earlier, the lighting is not that great.  I adhered a small pink button to my tag and some more gold ribbon.  The sentiment is from Just Rite's Noel Christmas Ornaments Stamp Set.  Lastly, I added some pink rhinestones to the bottom of the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

IBSIC #31 Meets Dynamic Duos #25 Meets Paper Players #18

Hello my friends,

I'm here to share a card for 3 separate challenges:

IBSIC #31 -  Halloween Photo Inspiration.  We were asked to use ORANGE, BLACK AND CREAMS/WHITES as the main color:

IBSIC #31

Dynamic Duos Challenge #25 - This week's combo is orange and black:

And The Paper Players #18 - It's all about the fun theme: FRAMES:

My card:

The base card is Whisper White and is matted with Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  The orange layer is SU DSP Patterns Pack and the black is from The Little Yellow Bicycle Swoon 6x6 Paper Pad.  I used the labels 3 Spellbinders to make the mats for the 2 orange flowers.  They were cut from the Blossom Party Die and the leaves are from the bird punch.  The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Banners.   Lastly, I added 4 tiny black rhinestones to each corner of the card!

On a personal note:

After months of emailing back and forth, I finally met in person one of my sweet blog friends, Penny, from http://pennyline.blogspot.com/.  About a month ago, she invited me to accompany her to the Scrapbook Expo.  This is where 70+ vendors come out and display their goodies at the Ontario Convention Center, from stickers, paper, embellishments, copic markers, glitter and much more.  We had a blast!  To my surprise, she made this beautiful box, as a gift for me:

This is a closer look from the top.  She added buttons, ribbon, pearls, flowers...But wait, there's more...

When I opened the box, I found all this!

Lots of pretty lace and ribbons!  My jaw dropped! I loved it all!  and who wouldn't  :)   She owns an Etsy Store, which you can find on her blog, and where you can purchase any of this loveliness too!
We are planning a get together during the Christmas holidays, and another trip to next year's Scrapbook Expo!
