Merry Monday #68

Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.  I wanted to post my card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge, before it closes!

My card:

I created another card using the sponging technique.  I used Baja Breeze to create the wintery scence.  This week, my focus was on a masculine Christmas card, which are not easy to make (at least for me).  The base of the card is Whisper White followed by Chocolate Chip cardstock.  I combined pretty paper from Parisian Breeze and Festival of Prints DSP.    The image is from SU! Dasher (retired).  The trees are from Lovely as a Tree and the sentiment is from Four the Holidays.

The Kraft Journal: Inks, Paints or Markers

Hello Everyone!

I'm popping in quickly to share a card I made for this week's The Kraft Journal.  We were asked to use Inks, Paints or Markers.

My card:

One of my best friends from high school birthday is on the 4th of July, so I made her this birthday card.  How fun to have a day off from work every year, don't you agree?  The base is Kraft cardstock, followed by pretty paper from Pebbles.  I used copic markers (R29 and B24)  to color the balloons and the wheels of the bicycle.  The image was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I popped up the balloons and the basket using dimensionals.  The sentiment is from SU! Itty Bitty Banners.  Lastly, I added some rhinestones to the top and bottom of the card.  I hope my friend likes it!

I'm also submitting my card over at Word Art Wednesday Challenge.

Merry Monday #67

Hello my friends,

I'm excited to play along over at Merry Monday #67  this week!  Leslie has a fabulous sketch for us:

My card:

The base of the card is Riding Hood Red, followed by white cardstock.  The pretty paper is from Paper Holly Berry DSP.  I grabbed some music note paper by Crate Paper Inc. and used it as the background for the die.  I'm always on the lookout for music paper...I just love it on Christmas cards!  I created snow using a scrap of white cardstock and hand drew the hill and adhered it to the circle.  The die is from Papertrey Ink called In the Meadow Silhouettes Die Collection.  The sentiment is from Just Rite Noel Christmas Ornaments Stamps.  To finish off my card, I added some grey satin ribbon.

Blooms and Butterflies Color Challenge #1

Hello my friends,

I am super excited to join in the fun over at Blooms and Butterflies Color Challenge!  This is their very first color challenge!  Brandy asked us to use Black and White.

My card:

I gave this card to my brother for Father's Day!  I am so glad I took a picture of it before putting it inside the envelope!  The base of the card is Whisper White, followed by Basic Black.  I took a page from an old dictionary that had the definition for "Father" and photocopied it.  I then ahered it to my card.  The image is from SU! You're My Type - one of my favorite stamp sets.  The sentiment was computer generated, since I did not have anything small enough to fit in the space.  Lastly, I added two buttons.

Inspired by Stamping - WHW #105

Happy Monday!

I'm here to share a card for Inspired by Stamping Whoo Hoo Wednesday.  Colleen has an awesome tutorial on how to sponge a frame and background using dies.

My card:

The base of the card is Whisper White. followed by Bashful Blue cardstock.  I embossed a piece of pink cardstock using SU! Square Lattice Folder.  The image is from Inspired by Stamping Cherish Stamp Set.  Using the Label 18 die, I sponged Old Olive on the bottom, then Baja Breeze, then Pretty in Pink followed by Regal Rose.  At the very top, I sponged more Pretty in Pink.  I used 2 doilies as a mat for the image.  I finished off with some pearls and a pretty double bow.

I'm also uploading my card at http://joannamunster.com/customer-gallery.

The Kraft Journal: Just For Him Challenge

Happy Sunday!

Just popping in quickly to share a card I made for this week's The Kraft Journal.  This week is about "Him"  so I created this manly card for my hubby for Father's Day, since he loves to fix things around the house.

I found this template in my stash, but I don't remmber where I got it from.  If you recognize it, please let me know so I can give them credit. The base of the card is Very Vanilla cardstock.  I thought the red gingham shirt went well with the Kraft overalls.  The template used eyelits, but I decided to use buttons instead.   I used a thin brown marker and drew lines to simulate stitching.  Lastly, I found 2 brass screws in the garage so I stuck them in the pocket!

I'm also entering my card over at Word Art Wednesday Challenge.

Dynamic Duos #57

Happy Saturday!

I have a card to share with you for this week's Dynamic Duos #57.  We were asked to use Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black with an optional plant theme.  The one thing that came to my mind was a masculine get well card!

My card:

The base of the card is Whisper White, then Basic Black cardstock. I frame cut 3 circles and placed on top of a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The opening was sponged with Pear Pizzazz ink, then stamped with SU! French Foliage Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The sentiment is from SU! Thoughts and Prayers.  I really like the way it turned out.

The Kraft Journal: Clean and Simple Challenge

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I have a card to share with you for this week's The Kraft Journal Challenge.  We were asked to create a clean and simple project.  With little time on my hands, this was right up my alley!

The base card is Whisper White, next is a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I used the Top Note Bigz to create a unique background - top half was left white and the botton half I adhered a piece of mint polka dots paper from Echo Park.  The flowers are from SU! Stippled Blossoms, stamped with Rose Red and Regal Rose ink.  I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the mat of each flower.  The sentiment is from an old stamp set called Button Greetings.

I'm also entering my card over at Word Art Wednesday Challenge.

Merry Monday #64

Happy Saturday!

I'm quickly popping in to share a card I created for this week's Merry Monday #64.  I love this week's sketch:

My card:

I wanted to do something different - out of my comfort zone - I wanted to create a snowy Christmas picture using the masking and sponging technique.  This is my very first attemept, and I'm really happy how my card turned out.  The base of the card is Whisper White, then I used the patterned paper from SU! Pocketful of Posies.  The beautiful tree is from SU! Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set.  I used torn paper to mask the bottom of the card.  I then sponged the top portion and bottom using Baja Breeze ink.  I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The trees that are on the edges, I stamped it two more times, without re-inking to make them appear more distant.  The seniment is from SU! For the Holidays.
